![]() ![]() I'm sure this post will be of use to others in the future. Thank you to those who will take some time to explain this wonderful world to a newcomer. This leads to the last point : what's the best way to convert my epub into a kepub which is (from what I've read) the best format for Kobo readers? I red about extension in calibre, or to other third party software. epub without the cover and other metadata? In this case, how do you transfert books from the calibre library to ur Kobo? I need to download the book and move it to the Kobo with a cable like before? There must be a simpler way, especially since when I download a book from Calibre-Web, it only gives me the. 100 gets a tick and anything between 1 and 100 gets an opened book. I also use a column icon to set the display based on the percent read. If you read a book elsewhere, you can set the percent read to 100 and use the restore to set the status on the device. Maybe it's absolutly not the goal of this feature and I miss-understood. If this is 100, then the book is marked as read. But I haven't found anything that clearly explains how this feature works or how to implement it. In my mind, it would be a feature allowing me to "send" books directly to my kobo like the "send to kindle" well-know feature. ![]() Now, there's few more things that i would like to be able to do.įor instance, I keep hearing about a feature called "Kobo sync" packaged with Calibre-Web. That's what I did, and it seems to work pretty much well with a reverse-proxy. So, from what i've understood now, i should install Calibre "server" on my NAS (through docker) to create and manage my library locally and install another package like Calibre-Web that will be the "front-end" of my library. For those of you with older OSes, like Win 7 and Mac 32-bit who are stuck on Calibre 3. A long press on various parts of the E Ink display of the Kobo can throw up different options. My main idea is to build my own books library on my NAS and I would like that library to be accessible from the internet so that my familly or friends could access it. Here are a few such features that you sure will love to know more about. I've been looking around for many hours now and didn't found anything on reddit or on whatever other website. Linux users can install the latest version by running the following command.I'm new to the calibre world and more widely to the e-reader world. You can download the latest release for Windows and macOS from the Calibre downloads page: But for anything else eBook related, be it stripping paid eBooks of DRM, converting ePub to a different format, editing metadata or cover artwork, syncing with popular devices - Calibre is in a class of its own. If you’re just after a clean, fuss-free eBook reader for Linux I recommend using Foliate. What is the best way of putting that across to my Kobo I dont want to have to do it manually on the Kobo by opening each book and going to the end so it is marked as finished. In fact there’s nothing quite as broad or as featured as Calibre on any system (that I’m aware of). I have a custom column in Calibre 'Read' with a yes/no (tick or cross) answer I have put in for all my ebooks. Get Calibre 5.0.1Ĭalibre is popular for a reason: it’s powerful, and it works on Windows, macOS and Linux. You can see a list of affected plugins on the MobileRead forum where, confusingly, the plugins crossed out HAVE been updated to work with Calibre 5.x, but the non-strikethrough ones haven’t. If a plugin hasn’t been updated to work with Python 3 it probably isn’t a plugin that’s in high demand or critical to use. The e-book viewer in Calibre 5.x also supports vertical and right-to-left text.įinally, because of the Python 3 port, you should be aware that a number of third-party/optional plugins will no longer work.
